Carol Stephenson did up a number of collaborations utilizing her cut and sew skills to whip up one off pieces with Die Constant printed fabric. Check out this little number she made for her Niece. The .45 Caliber buttons are a nice touch.

The Fall Wearable Arts is a project that aims to highlight and support the people who largely contirbute to the aesthetic of the West Coast’s alternative arts community: those designing clothing, jewelry and accessories. These artists are turning out unique and gorgeous work by returning to ethical and sustainable manufacturing as well as the old-school methods of handmade craftsmanship. Shoppers and fashionistas experience a un…ique marketplace of limited edition “art-wear” including clothing, jewelery, hats, artisan leather works, local artist print clothing and more.

Historically these items have only been available to a small demographic at festivals, gallery openings or on special order through individual websites. But as of next month, anyone interested will be able to shop from a wide selection of pieces by a number of amazing local artists seven days a week, year round.

The idea is for The Fall Wearable Arts to provide a forum to showcase and promote the artist, their products, skills and events. The space acts as both a gallery for wearable art and a dedicated space available to artists for events and workshops, helping artists to reach a wider demographic and continue to develop their art forms.
