The Fall Wearable Arts is a project that aims to highlight and support the people who largely contirbute to the aesthetic of the West Coast’s alternative arts community: those designing clothing, jewelry and accessories. These artists are turning out unique and gorgeous work by returning to ethical and sustainable manufacturing as well as the old-school methods of handmade craftsmanship. Shoppers and fashionistas experience a un…ique marketplace of limited edition “art-wear” including clothing, jewelery, hats, artisan leather works, local artist print clothing and more.

Historically these items have only been available to a small demographic at festivals, gallery openings or on special order through individual websites. But as of next month, anyone interested will be able to shop from a wide selection of pieces by a number of amazing local artists seven days a week, year round.

The idea is for The Fall Wearable Arts to provide a forum to showcase and promote the artist, their products, skills and events. The space acts as both a gallery for wearable art and a dedicated space available to artists for events and workshops, helping artists to reach a wider demographic and continue to develop their art forms.

“We are guilty of being strange… much like mad scientists.

Our stage is an experiment. We bring artists (who may never have even met before) together to improvise on stage. It is a format that is entirely new to Vancouver… and it is exciting! Every performance is one of a kind ~ join us for sights and sounds you’ve never witnessed before.

Our kitchen is an experiment. We make pickles and antipastos from scratch. We make our own mustards and potato chips. You can buy a chunk of cheese off the wheel behind the bar.

Our bar is an experiment. We infuse alcohols. We make all of our own bitters, tinctures, and garnishes. Some of our drinks have aphrodisiac qualities. Others come with Polaroid pictures. We encourage collaboration, socialization, mingling, and playing one or more of our 14 board games… preferably with people you’ve never met before.”

Mad Grafix Tattoos & Gallery owned by world renowned tattoo artist, Mark Madden in Buffalo NY has a limited number of Sean Madden’s Mr. Beepy’s tees hand printed and dyed in distressed grey. Mark’s band Angry Soil will be playing with Green Jelly April 11th and there will be some select Die Constant tees available at their merch table.

Die Constant had a runway show of their latest styles while NaRai performed with Jeff Spec and Star Captains at Vancouver Music and Fashion Festival.
